Journal 9

The other day after my softball practice my coach had all of us girls sit around so she could talk to us. We all sat around her, and she stood up and talked. She was giving an emotional and inspirational talk, and all of our attention was focused on her. I looked around at my teammates and saw the emotion on everyones faces, and everyone looked like they were thinking only about what our coach was saying. We were near windows, so the lighting would have been good.  I would have used a high aperture so that everyone would be in focus. I might use this in black and white, because you would be able to see the contrast of the light hitting different parts of people. I will probably be able to take a similar picture like this when we have another talk, except it might be weird if I take a picture while she is talking.
I wouldn't need a tripod for this picture.

  1. This sounds like it would have been a very meaningful picture. It would have been really nice to capture the expressions on everyones faces and see the intent concentration on what your coach was saying. I agree that it may have been a little weird to take pictures while she was talking, but it might have been worth it to get this photo.

  2. That would be a really good picture, because of the emotion you described it would have been powerful. I also think if you use a low aptitude and just have one persons face as the main focas and the rest of the people in the background it could also make it more emotional focussing in one person but I don't know
